Each year we take numerous media crew on our flights and helicopter tours. The Kimberley has to be seen from the air to truly appreciate its beauty and enormous size. Therefore we support our tourism agencies such as : Tourism Australia, Tourism Western Australia, Australia’s North West Tourism and the Kununurra Visitor Centre when they request flights for media. It is important to promote our destination – The Kimberley, Australia –  as we are very remote and not well known out in the wider tourism marketplace.

A very big commitment was to support media on our new HeliSpirit Luxury Helicopter Safari. In August 2016 we flew 5 media personnel on 2 separate departures. Stanley Johnson, British journalist and also father of the famous Boris Johnson was on board one of the safaris and reported to us that he had no idea that landscapes like this were to be found in Australia, and that the week long safari was one of the best things he had done in his 70+ years on earth. now that is a huge endorsement and we thank Stanley. His story was published in the UK Daily Telegraph just days ago. You can read it here.

On a separate departure in 2016 we had top Australian travel journalist, Ralph Bestic, who featured his story in the Australian Financial Review, with a great cover image of Ken Eastwood, associate editor of RM Williams OUTback magazine who travelled with him and Sonja Mitchell, HeliSpirit Marketing Manager.

Read Ralph’s story titled Take the high road, it will inspire you to come to the Kimberley and book a helicopter safari; whether it be a week long itinerary or a shorter helicopter adventure.

Ken Eastwood’s story will be published in 2017 in OUTback magazine.

Tourism Australia assisted in bringing Stanley to Western Australia by providing airfares through their partnership with Emirates. The accommodation and touring partners; Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments, Berkeley River Lodge, Kimberley Coastal Camp, El Questro Homestead, Bungle Bungle Guided Tours and East Kimberley Tours all helped by providing accommodation and tours at either free or reduced costs for both departures. Tourism Western Australia and Australia’s North West Tourism both assisted by providing the flights to Kununura from Sydney for Ralph and Ken.  It is superb to work together with a group of  businesses all focussed on supporting our tourism industry in promoting the destination.
