HeliSpirit wins Major Tour and Transport Operator silver award
On 14 November 2015 HeliSpirit won the Silver award in the Major Tour and Transport Operator’s category in the WA Tourism Awards. The highly contested category saw ADAMs win Gold and Rottnest Fast Ferries Bronze. Other finalists were Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tours, Aviair and Kimberley Wild Expeditions.
“We are thrilled to win this prestigious award in our first year of ownership. The logistics of running a helicopter tourism business in the spectacular Kimberley is challenging but extremely rewarding” said HeliSpirit Managing Director, Michael McConachy.
HeliSpirit helicopter tours operate in some of the world’s most remote regions. With 7 helicopter bases located in the Kimberley and Northern Territory, the region HeliSpirit covers is around 400,000 sqkm. Carrying approximately 18,000 passengers each year in a fleet of 20 helicopters requires strict systems and attention to detail. The business’ commitment to the sustainability of the communities and environment in which it operates was a large contributor in the award acknowledgement.
The Kimberley is an ancient land of astounding natural beauty, and offers a dramatic and unique perspective when seen from the air. HeliSpirit’s collection of unforgettable helicopter adventures includes scenic flights and helicopter tours which land to view galleries of ancient rock art; fish in wild rivers; picnic on a mountain pinnacle; hike through rainforest pockets; or swim in secret springs. HeliSpirit’s accommodated helicopter safaris encompass all these experiences whilst staying in luxury lodges or in true outback style with warm hospitality and spectacular views.
Helicopter transport services transfer thousands of tourists each year, to and from numerous vessels cruising the Kimberley Coast, wilderness eco lodges and cliff top resorts.
Their skilled pilots offer personal attention and in flight commentary.
Flights depart from: Kununurra, Lake Argyle, Bungle Bungle, Mitchell Falls, Warmun, El Questro & Katherine Gorge.
