Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience

Aviair and Helispirit will this year return to partner with the Ord Valley Muster’s largest concert event; now called the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience. Primarily operating out of Kununurra and Karratha, Aviair and HeliSpirit provide high quality air services in the north of Western Australia, and are incredibly proud to be involved with this event.

Michael McConachy, Managing Director of Aviair and Helispirit, expressed his delight in returning as the naming rights sponsor. He said, “The value of the Ord Valley Muster and the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience to the Kununurra business community is well recognised by the lengthening of the tourist season and the raising profile of Kununurra as a destination.”

Mr McConachy is proud of the history of support shown by the business, stating, “To see the event supported by the same founding business 17 years on is a real success story for the Kimberley Moon Experience and a testament to the belief in the event by the business.”

The premiere of the Kimberley Moon Experience took place almost 20 years ago, in 1999, and was supported by the aviation company, which was then called Slingair Heliwork WA.

Since 1999, the Kimberley Moon Experience has become a highly anticipated event each year, and has played host to some of the nation’s leading artists including Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning. The event itself is split between a formal, black-tie dining area for over 500 guests, as well as a family-friendly concert area, where concert-goers can relax on the lawn with a picnic, as well as dancing later in the evening.

The Ord Valley Muster has been recognised for their exceptional festival numerous times at the WA Tourism Awards. Similarly, new partners Aviair and HeliSpirit have been recognised for their high quality services and contribution to community.

Awarded gold at the 2017 WA Tourism Awards in the Major Tour and Transport Operator category, Aviair operates the most impressive general aviation fleet in the Kimberley. Aviair is the air tour specialist for the magnificent Bungle Bungle and Mitchell Falls as well as chartered corporate flights across the Kimberley and Pilbara. Aviair has plans to expand, and intends to soon operate a network connecting the Pilbara, Kimberley and Gascoyne regions.

HeliSpirit operates a fleet of 23 helicopters from eight locations including Karratha, Purnululu, Mitchell Falls, El Questro, Lake Argyle resort, Katherine Gorge and also an affiliated commercial helicopter flight training school, the Australian Helicopter Academy in Kununurra.

A silver medal winner at the 2017 WA Tourism Awards for Adventure Tourism, HeliSpirit offers unforgettable scenic flights, heli-fishing, waterfall flights, week-long luxury helicopter safaris, corporate helicopter charter as well as search and rescue, fire and resource support, sling load and remote passenger transfers.

The Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience concert will take place on Saturday 19th May 2018 at the Jim Hughes Amphitheatre on the banks of the Ord River. Gracing the stage this year will be Lee Kernaghan and The Cat Empire, amongst other fantastic artists.

The State Government is a proud supporter of the event through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.
